Donald C. Whiteside, M.D.

Personal Statment I started this practice on a dream and a prayer in January of 1985. Our medical office was one of th first to open in the University area, even before the University Hospital. Charlotte is home for me, I grerw up in Derita. It has been such a pleasure to witness the development of the University area along with the growth of this practice.

Along with that growth came some wonderful changes. I became so busy by the summer of 1987 that Ineeded partners. Dr. Peters Schneider and Dr. Richard Boesel joined me that summer. With the addition of my partners, I was able to devote more time to raising my children and being with my family. With the addition of another OB/GYN, Dr. Warren Overbey in 1991, I decided to refocus and exclusively practice gynecology. I spend most of my time helping women with monepause; evaluating and treating infertility and incontinence and performing gynecologic surgery.

Living on Lake Norman, I love boating and kayaking. I also enjoy snow skiing, golfing, exercising, reading and I am an avid sports enthusiast. I am the sports gynecologist for the UNCC athletic department and also one of the physicians for the Panthers and Hornets. I am a member of Davidson United Methodist church. Through the church I am involved in several medical missions locally and internationally. I have a son who is a sophomore in college and a daughter who is a senior in high school. Empty nesting sounds wonderful at this time!
